Having pursued a Masters' Degree in Bharatanatyam, under the guidance of Dr. Padmaja Suresh, Dr. Divyasena S, and Dr. Karuna V, Smt. Ipsita Mitra, has been an ardent entusiast in exploring and expanding Bharatanatyam in Kalakshetra Bani across the Globe. She is the Artistic Director of “Srishti Nrityalaya School of Performing Arts LLC” and had been learning Bharatanatyam since the age of 3 years. She is trained from “Kalamandalam Kolkata" established in 1968 by Guru Govindan Kutty and Guru Smt. Thankamani Kutty, which is the premier institution in Eastern India for Bharatanatyam, Mohiniattam,and Kathakali.
She had been fortunate enough to work with traditional Bharatanatyam and Kuchipudi Gurus like Smt. Vyjayanthi Kashi. She had been an active member of the Eastern Zonal Cultural Center (EZCC) in India, contributing into creation of fusion style choreography, along with attending workshops offered by famous gurus like Meenakshi Shrinivasan, Vaibhav Arekar, Mythili Prakash and many more. She had been a stage performer in India as well as in the U.S being an integral part of the community and contributing in choreographing musical pieces.
She has been proactively involved with Nrityaseva at the Karyasiddhi Hanuman Temple, Sri Guruvayurappan Temple, Radha Krishna Temple of Dallas, Texas.
Smt. Ipsita believes in the traditional style of Bharatanatyam, and so she ensures that the school's core curriculum (Bharatanatyam) is strictly based on the traditional Kalakshetra Bani.
